Computing using Scratch

In year 3 this week, we have been learning how to make our sprite move and follow the mouse using Scratch. Everyone enjoyed following the step-by-step instructions and then having a go by themselves. Once we had done that, we had a chance to play around with Scratch and see what we could do! From now on, we will have class bloggers who will be writing all about the learning that takes place each day in year 3.

Stone Age dwellings

In our topic lessons this week, we have been looking closely at the different types of homes that existed during the Stone Age. We've explored how homes changed from basic caves during the Paleolithic period to round houses during the Neolithic era, such as those found at Skara Brae on the Orkney Islands. Our next task is to create a news report in small groups to publicise the discovery of Skara Brae!
